Soundtrack Series Volume 2, 3, & 4: Jim Jarmusch, Cameron Crowe, Michel Gondry

My next installment of the Playlist Soundtrack Series. Read here to find out what it's about, but essentially it's imaginary soundtracks I made for films that don't exist from filmmakers that I love.

For this batch I included some very loose premises because a) they came to me while making them and b) because I'm probably pretentious like that. Update: Downloadable links removed, we've had enough issues with Google to last a lifetime.

The Playlist Soundtrack Series: If I Were Jim Jarmusch
Volume 2: Jim Jarmusch's imaginary soundtrack involves a cross-country fishing trip with old childhood pals, Tom Waits, John Lurie and their taciturn chain-smoking companion, Jim Jarmusch.

3.21.08 update: By the way, if you feel this one is too long, kill the Blonde Redhead song, I love that song, but now don't think it really fits. I now wish I would have included a Harmonia song and one by The Genius/GZA. I probably could have edited myself a little bit, but the first couple in this series are long. I try and keep them to under an hour now.

Yeah, I changed the art on this one cause I always hated the original that I did way too fast. This is more what I originally wanted. If you care, just add this to the version you already have. Or don't, whatever. Most of the art on some of these are sub-par and I'd like to re-do most (thought the 3 on this page, I'm mostly happy with).

How To Download & Listen To These Soundtracks

Instructions to (theoretically) Download and Listen:
* save the .zip file to whatever directory you want it to save to (but know where you're saving it to' ideally wherever on your computer you generally store your music).

* the tracks are mp3s downloadable from sendspace (or whatever filesharing site we put them on) in WinZip format and should be PC/Mac compatible. Let me know if you have a problem, but download a free WinZip program at winzip.com if you don't already have one (your computer should have one, Macs should be able to open with StuffIt). It's easy peazy.
- once you've done that and you're aware of where you saved it, open the zip file and extract the files to wherever you want to put them, I suggest a folder named, i.e., "If I Were Miranda July" wherever you save your music ( i.e. C: My Music/If I Were Miranda July/)

EASY AND IMPORTANT:
*Xml playlist files are attached in the WinZip. So i f you have ITunes, File>Import> (find the directory where you put extracted the files ( i.e. C: My Music/If I Were Miranda July/) and then choose the xml (i.e . C: My Music/If I Were Miranda July/Miranda July.XML) and it will load the file as a playlist on your ITunes in order (If you don't use ITunes, drag and drop files into your audio player and arrange files manually).

*Ok, let's face it, the whole Itunes, easy and important thing only works half the time.

If all else fails, drag and drop, put the songs, in correct order, into a Playlist. You can surely do that.
