So, are these new songs from the film "The Go-Getter" which features the timid folkie M. Ward and doe-eyed actress Zooey Deschanel cover of British folkie ex-husband and wife duo Richard and Linda Thompson? [ed. which we've written about a few times].
Survey says, doesn't look like it. The tracklist for "The Go-Getter" (below) indicates that only one song from the soundtrack is a Ward/Deschanel cover, plus M.Ward superfans Pitchfork reported a full-on collaboration a few months back.
So alas, no extra soundtrack material it seems, though one of the songs, "You Really Got A Hold On Me" is a cover of a classic Smokey Robinson song.
"Matt and Zooey must have really hit it off, because the gravel-tongued folkie will soon begin working with the honey-voiced actress on an album of her own song," the all things indie-site wrote in June of this year.
"The Go-Getter" soundtrack:
01 M. Ward - "Vincent O'Brien"

according to the interview with both of them (the origin of those downloads) they have already recorded it. It seems they are just waiting to release it. I'll be waiting on pins and needles until it is released! Zooey's voice is awesome. And is it just me or do their duets remind you a bit of Dylan and Baez?
are you kidding me? her voice is garbage. Way to tarnish your almost perfect career M. You should secretly ask yourself: "what would eliott do?" before making entire albums with lame actors. Was that mean? Sorry, but that's how I feel.
