'Rachel Getting Married' Soundtack Features TVOTR's Tunde Adebimpe, Robyn Hitchock and More...

While we busy watching and reviewing the film, the soundtrack to Jonathan Demme's "Rachel Getting Married" came out on September 30 via Lakeshore digitally (the album comes out physically on October 28).

As we noted in our review, TV On The Radio's frontman, Tunde Adebimpe sings Neil Young's classic, "Unknown Legend," acapella in the movie and his version is included on the 16-song tracklist as well as two songs by Robyn Hitchcock, one of which, "Up To Our Nex," was written originally for the film.

Given the mult-culti nature of the film — the wedding seems to mash-up one-too many cultures for no real discerning reason — the soundtrack features samba by Cyro Baptista & Beat The Donkey, reggae by Congo Sister Carol East and Demme's young son, Brooklyn Demme is also featured on two songs in the film's soundtrack, including a guitar-heavy version of "Here Come The Bride," that can be heard in the film's trailer.

Zafer Tawil plays one of the wedding musicians in the band and some of his original songs are also featured in the movie and on the disc. Donald Harrison Jr. wrote some of the score material and presumably the last song in the film (?), which stems from a jam that the wedding band and Adebimpe are playing at the movie's conclusion and into the credits. It's a fantastic song and we must know for sure what the name of that track was.

Does anyone know the name of the song playing (sounds like an indian song) when Kym finds out that she is not the maid of honor? Thanks!

Yeah, I also meant the song playing when she finds out she's not the maid of honor (instead of bridesmaid). I'm pretty sure the song is not on the soundtrack. I'll post when I find out.

Here's what I found out about the reception scene as far as the DJ/Dance music. Sydne is in a band called "TV on the radio" and are an excellent electro/hip-hop group from Brooklyn. Here are links to the yuotube video and more info on the soundtrack.
