'Ghostbusters 3,' The New Generation Aiming For 2011 Release
In a very recent interview, one of the original "Ghostbusters" star Harold Ramis confirmed that a new generation of scientists/spectre busting watchdog would be featured in "Ghostbusters 3" as written by
Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, the current it-boys of threequel franchise comedy, but would still feature Dan Akyrod, Bill Murray and himself (what no love for Ernie Hudson?).

According to EW who had writers down at ShowWest in Vegas earlier this week, the film is now aiming for a 2011 release, which means all talk by Dan Aykroyd that the film would shoot this fall was the exact over-wishful thinking we figured it was (by all accounts it sounds like they won't even start writing the script until the summer and it will presumably need lots of development and vetoing). The magazine also reiterates the fact, that despite the debunked reports and those that missed that news evidently, Judd Apatow is still not involved as a producer on this project.

The story will focus on new Ghostbusters being mentored by the old ones, which frankly sounds kind of terrible and episodically sitcom-ish, but maybe they can find a fun, young cast and hopefully it's not the super obvious one (Seth Rogen, Michael Cera, etc.)
