Call us crazy, but we think this looks pretty funny. Still looking forward to this one a lot. Judd Apatow recently told MTV that "Funny People" is "two minutes shorter than 'Transformers 2,' but the extra fifteen minutes is free." He's probably joking, but "Revenge of The Fallen" was 148 minutes long meaning "Funny People" would be 146 minutes, which is 2.4 hours (or 2 hour and twenty six minutes) which actually seems to match what he said earlier this spring about the film's two-hours-plus length. We'll see. The RZA as Seth Rogen's work buddy seems to be some pretty inspired casting. The Wilco song from Summerteeth ("Nothingsevergonnastandinmyway [again]") is a strong choice given its melancholy undertones. As we noted earlier this year, "Funny People," actor Jason Schwartzman has written the film's score some of which you can hear on the official site.

Can't wait for this. I can't understand the internet hate for his movie.
"Don't make me fuck my way out of this.
Yeah, that line was great. I'm really lookin' fwd to. I loved the script.
I love Apatow too but I rewatched 40 Year Old the other day and even that seemed to go a little long. I can't imagine 2 1/2 hours. I dunno, I'm of the 90 minute school of thought when it comes to comedys. I hope I'm proven wrong though.
And Dr. Dog!!!!!!!!!!!
Really don't like Dr. Dog so i tried not to mention. It's just me i suppose.
Dr. Dog blows.
I'm really excited about this film too, and that surprises me since I've never really loved an Apatow movie (though "Superbad" is pretty great). All the others have this same run-time issue, and I still think Apatow really needs an editor. I too am of the opinion that 90 minute comedies work best (hence why the massively underrated "Observe and Report" is one of my favorite films of the year so far).
Still, this just looks so damn funny. Excellent cast, and the film is even more palatable now that they cut that, 'I'm dying!' and 'Now I'm not dying!' crap out of the TRAILER. That was a mistake to show us both twists up front, even if they do happen early on.
Anyway, yeah, pretty stoked. Maybe an Apatow film will earn its length for once.
Saw this last night. It kind of sucked. Totally pretentious. WAY too long. And I was actually REALLY looking forward to it.
I was there too. Not surprised some felt that way. I liked most of it, but yeah, it fell apart in the 2nd half.
Pretentious? It's Judd Apatow, maybe taking itself slightly more seriously than usual? Ok, I'd buy that.
I loved most of it, though it was a little long, but I wouldn't call it pretenious. Apatow just got a little serious, which one is allowed to do every now and then.
