Fox Searchlight's last minute entry into the Oscar race, "Crazy Heart," has been building quite a bit of steam. Jeff Bridges has been earning accolades for his turn as the grizzled, down-on-his-luck singer while T. Bone Burnett has been getting nods for his score, and Ryan Bingham is pretty much a lock for a Best Song nomination for "The Weary Kind." While the film has been in limited release since mid-December, starting January 15th, Fox Searchlight will be considerably expanding the film's playdates in the run-up to the Golden Globes (where Bridges and Bingham are nominated) and Oscars.
New West Records will be releasing the soundtrack online and instores on January 19th and it features a healthy mix of cast performances and classic country cuts. The full tracklist is below:

So The Weary Kind is the theme to Crazy heart, but it's not the main song Bridges writes over the duration of the film is it? That is I'm assuming he writes a "main" song in the film much like Eminem did in 8 Mile. The lyrics to The Weary Kind sum up Bridges character like Springsteen's The Wrestler did, so I wouldn't think Bad Blake would write it about himself. So I wonder if there is even a version of Bridges singing The Weary Kind?
I don't think there is. Bridges signature song in the movie is "Flying and Falling," which was also more memorable to me than "The Weary Kind," although the latter was good too.
