Despite how good (or not so good) the forthcoming animated comedy "Despicable Me" is, it will probably have the coolest soundtrack of any kids film this year.
It was announced back in January that Pharrell would be penning tunes for the film, and not surprisingly, the beatmaker and rapper is all over the upcoming soundtrack. In addition to four solo cuts, Pharrell also produced "My Life" for third-rate Justin Timberlake singer Robin "Son Of Alan" Thicke. Pharrell also wrote and produced songs for the film's characters including "Minion Mambo" by The Minions (co-written with Lupe Fiasco) and "The Unicorn Song" by Agnes. Parents out there will be served by two classic cuts, "You Should Be Dancing" by The Bee Gees and "Boogie Fever" by The Sylvers.
The soundtrack will hit stores on July 6th, three days before the film opens on July 9th.

Pharrell's string/marimba/trombone theme for the song was also heavily incorporated into the score by Heitor Pereira. It's a catchy and instantly identifiable theme, more than most films scores seem to do these days...
The Pharell OST for this movie seems awesome and good. I do really like the trailers and I am expecting for the Despicable Me movie. :)
got a zip file of this soundtracks, if have please tell me thanks! (= I like this show very nice and funny.
Third rate "Justin Timberlake!" Robin Thicke has more talent than Justin Timberlake could ever wish for. So what if he is Alan Thicke's son, that shouldn't take away from his talent! You shouldn't confuse talent with record sales!
You shouldn't confuse record sales with talent.
'third rate' justin timberlake singer!
mate u are deluded !
When gru freezes everybody in cafeplace, whats music plays in that moment?
Despicable me - pharrel it is...I love it..."Im having a bad bad day, if you take it personal, thats ok"
Very refreshing and appropro for the movie. The soundtrack definitely added to the movie. Nice job!
Great soundtrack. Really complements the movie scenes. Very refreshing and modern. Not your typical Snow White frolicking in the woods music.
I instantly caught that this was Pharrell! I'll add this one to my thumpin' kids' movie soundtrack collection-- which currently consists only of Will-i-am's Madagascar 2 contributions. :)
Robin Thicke a "third-rate" Justin Timberlake singer?? What planet have you been raised on?
