Gillian Anderson Needs A Better Agent: Joins 'Johnny English Reborn'

If Agent Mulder (David Duchovny) can move on to better things in his career, why can't Agent Scully?

Deadline reports that Gillian Anderson is inexplicably set to star opposite Rowan Atkinson in "Johnny English Reborn." The sequel to the hit 2003 film will find Atkinson reprising his role as the bumbling spy while we presume Anderson will be reduced to acting exasperated for ninety minutes.

Anderson actually is a good actress ("House Of Mirth" anyone?) who deserves to land some roles in films deserving of her talent. Her last few appearances in films like "Boogie Woogie," "How To Lose Friends & Alienate People" and uh, "Straightheads" (yeah, we didn't hear of this one either) might make her want to reconsider her representation.

^ Ugh, I've heard every movie with Danny Dyer is to be avoided.

I saw about twenty minutes of Adulthood the other day on Sundance... yeesh, it was as awful as movies get. Just torture.

She has moved on to better things, like getting a Laurence Olivier Best Actress nomination in her most recent play, "A Doll's House".

Californication is the best thing you say Duchovney moved to? I think Straightheads is better. And she got an Olivier Award nomination... something he never will

She was also in Tristam Shandy. Does she live in the UK now or something? I have no idea what she's doing with her career.

I liked Straightheads, it got a hysterical reaction but fortunately not from all (Sight and Sound gave it a nice review). It was very "raw" and straight to the point, Anderson was fab and Danny Dyer was actually good in the role...

You should only write about things you know, isn't that the rule?

Same goes with "Johnny English Reborn".

Agree with the 2 anonymous about "A Doll's House", I saw it 2 yrs ago and was fantastic.
