Peyton Reed To Direct James Franco In 'Ricky Stinicky'

We can't say we were too excited when we first heard about the James Franco comedy "Ricky Stinicky" and now that word has arrived via Pajiba that Peyton Reed ("Yes Man," "The Break-Up") is slated to direct, our interest is circling the drain.

The story centers on a couple of pals who use a made-up friend as a means to get away from their spouses. However, when said spouses threaten to uncover their lies by insisting on his appearance at a party, the group hires an actor (Franco) to portray the character, Ricky Stinicky, in order to keep the illusions alive. Hilarity ensues, we guess, though being a comedy spec from "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" writer Jeff Bushell, it doesn't exactly bode well.

Nothing is official yet and things may change by the time this gets in front cameras. As for Franco, he'll be seen next in Danny Boyle's highly anticipated survival tale "127 Hours" which hits theaters on November 5th.

This script must have been inspired by Wilde. How else to explain why, after reading the plot synopsis, I couldn't stop thinking BUNBURY BUNBURY BUNBURY

The premise is oddly similar to Lars von Trier's The Boss of It All.
