Tim Blake Nelson has joined "Everybody Loves Whales," the forthcoming animal rescue drama with John Krasinski, Drew Barrymore and Kristen Bell.
Set during the Cold War, the film is based on the true story "of a small-town news reporter (Krasinski) and a Greenpeace volunteer (Barrymore) who enlist the help of rival superpowers to save three majestic gray whales trapped under the ice of the Arctic Circle." Nelson will play a wildlife expert in the film, but there's no word yet on Bell's part.
Ken Kwapis is attached to direct. He has been behind some of the best episodes of "The Office" and also scored a hit with the rom-com "He's Just Not That Into You." Can't say we're overly excited about this but maybe Sean Connery will show up in a submarine to make things more interesting. Production begins this fall.
