'Easy A' Movie Soundtrack Features Death Cab For Cutie, Dan Black & Rooney, But There Likely Won't Be A CD

Sorry soundtrack fans and Emma Stone enthusiasts. It appears that there will be no soundtrack released for the upcoming high school rom com, "Easy A" (no listing on ITunes or Amazon yet).

However, we nabbed ourselves a list of the songs used in the film and the comedy will feature contributions from Death Cab For Cutie, Dan Black, Rooney and Miniature Tigers for the indie rock set,
Pussycat Dolls, Natasha Bedingfield, Keri Hilson and Jessica Cornish for pop aficionados, plus tracks by Sweet Things, The Boy Least Likely To, DJ Laz featuring Casely and Flo Rida and two different versions of the Simple Minds' "Don't You (Forget About Me)"; the original and one from the band AM.

A modern retelling of the classic tale The Scarlet Letter, "Easy A," may appear to be just another teen comedy, but thanks to Stone it at least looks really charming from various clips and trailers. What can we say, fingers are crossed for another "Mean Girls;" female-led teen comedies are about as rare as Halley's Comet these days, so you'll have to figure us if we'd like to see another decent one relatively soon.

Directed by Will Gluck ("Fired Up!") the picture has an above-average cast that also includes Patricia Clarkson, Stanley Tucci, Amanda Bynes, Thomas Haden Church, Malcolm McDowell, Lisa Kudrow, Cam Gigandet and it opens on September 17th. Update: A soundtrack was eventually released,
rather at the last minute on September 14, via ITunes.

Yeah, this one does look surprisingly watchable. Hopefully it won't suck, because I love me some Emma Stone.

I've seen this and can totally vouch for the fact that's a smarter than average teen comedy. Maybe even too smart, the audience I saw it with didn't get half the jokes.

I agree, there has not been a good flick like this since Mean Girls! Looking forward to it. A soundtrack should be released there are some amazing bands and songs, Sweet Thing- "Change of Seasons" being one of them!
