Writers Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel are set to re-write the Billy Crystal comedy "Us & Them."
The duo are no strangers to writing for Crystal having penned "City Slickers," "Forget Paris" and "Father's Day," and will take a stab at the original script by Lisa Addario and Joe Syracuse ("Surf's Up"). A co-production between Walden Media and Fox, the project was picked up in turnaround from Paramount and is on a fast-track.
The story will find Crystal, 62 years old (wow, time flies....), playing a "grandpa left alone to care for his grandchildren. He has to overcome generational shifts to bond with the kids, and try to repair a rift with his daughter." Sounds pretty unbearable. Maybe we'll dust off "When Harry Met Sally" instead, and hell, maybe "City Slickers" too.

72?
62.
Yeah, oops. He's still An Old.
As a huge fan of When Harry Met Sally, I recently watched City Slickers for the first time. The sentimentality is unbearable. This seems to be in the same wheel-house.
